Work starts on Greater Sydney’s newest suburb

Work on Greater Sydney’s newest suburb has begun with the first sod turned at Landcom’s North Wilton development, paving the way for more than 5,000 new homes over the next 25 years.

Landcom CEO Alex Wendler said the development be one of Greater Sydney’s most affordable developments.

“Work on stage one of the project will deliver around 200 dwellings, with the average price of the first lots sold at $600,000,” Mr Wendler said.

“The North Wilton development will be a benchmark for future residential developments on Sydney’s fringe in terms of quality, sustainability, and lifestyle.

“It will achieve a 6 Star Green Star Community rating and include a range of housing types with a number set aside for affordable rental housing for key workers.

“Several initiatives will enable carbon neutral outcomes across the project to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote low carbon living. These include ensuring 100% renewable energy for all residential households within stage one.”

“We know there is strong demand from homebuyers looking for high quality developments which meet the highest environmental standards, and we are delivering this at North Wilton.

“North Wilton will be a great place to live and raise a family, with jobs, schools, parks, and affordable homes – keeping the dream of owning a home within the reach of families in NSW.”

Situated on the Hume Highway about 30 kilometres south of Campbelltown and 30 kilometres north of Wollongong, the site is well positioned to take advantage of its proximity to jobs while providing urban amenity with a rural lifestyle.

The site will also have a direct connection to the Hume Highway, enabling quick and seamless travel to wider Sydney and the Southern Highlands and everything the regions have to offer.
